Tucows Changes Rating Guide
Tucows has modified their rating guide (at least for Windows programs but it also appears to be modified for other programs). The public rating guide has not been updated yet. You will need to log in to the Author Resource Center to see the changes.
The biggest changes are in the Overall Evaluation sections. The cost vs. value and reviewers recommendation have been changed from 3 points to 1 point and the reviewers overall impression has been increased from 5 points to 10 points. Minor changes were made to the installation, customer support, file size, and author home page sections. The multimedia demos section has been removed.
I have updated the Tucows Rating Calculator with the new rating guide changes. See how your application has been affected.

Sorry, but I find that your actually very nice Tucows rating calculator only shows how much Tucows sucks.
Just look how unflexible this rating scheme is. I also wasted 70$ bucks only to learn that Tucows insist in keyboard hotkeys even for applications where it absolutely does not make sense. Same for Flash tutorials. Who likes the "You need to install Flash to see this content"???
Best is that they flimpse around with all details of a product and finally give you kick in the ass with a totally opinionated judgement just by personal taste. What the heck is that?

Tucows sucks major ass.
I have been developing shareware for years and ALWAYS had major hassle with those people. They pretend to be "looking out for the consumer" - But all that results in is an overly bureaucratic system which actually actively misleads and hampers the end-user in finding the software he needs.
Also, eventhought Tucows pretends to have an objective rating system it is very much subjective indeed and is very much dependent on the person reviewing your application.
Also they try to extort money from software authors any way they can - And it seems that to get any sort of fair rating and exposure on their site is by paying them a gazillion.
Not quite the identity they are portraying to the outsode world is it....
